I've always considered "That's Entertainment" to be the best thing Weller ever wrote. Even better than "Down in the Tube Station after Midnight," which is pretty amazing in its own right with such great lines as:
I first felt a fist, and then a kick
I could now smell their breath
They smelt of pubs and wormwood scrubs
And too many right wing meetings.
But I'll go back and listen to these songs, many of which i haven't listened to in years. As for his solo work, it seems I keep getting sucked into believing the hype that whatever new album has just come out is a 'return to form' and I'm always disappointed.
